THAT CHARACTER ANIMATION. 

While Augenblick Studios animated season 1, Titmouse took over for season 2, and the differences in the studios really shows here. I’m curious as to whether or not the budget got a little higher? While the animation in season 1 was fantastic, season 2 looks a bit more meticulous and focused on properly exaggerating movement. (On that note. I’m always happy to see American animation studios making something really mind blowing and imaginative; especially when it’s on an Adult Swim budget. This should be the standard!)

Superjail! is actually one of the lower-budget shows that have aired on Adult Swim. Surprising!

Titmouse is supposedly less expensive, they just do things a little differently than Augenblick did. They use Flash CS3 as opposed to Flash MX. Season 1 was mostly frame-by-frame, with some motion tweening here and there. Season 2 still did the frame animation, but appears to have employed more tweening work. We’ll all have to wait months to see how Titmouse has modified things for the next season, as an artist working on the show has said that changes have been made.
